ASCEND (Accelerate positive Clean Energy Districts) aims to accelerate Positive, Clean Energy Districts (PCED) for the transition of cities towards carbon neutrality. ASCEND proposes to contribute to city health, inclusion and climate neutrality and accelerate the scalability of the development of cost-effective PCED solutions through i) large-scale demonstrators, ii) development of solutions throughout the life cycle of cities, and, iii) replicating a PCDE during the project in the eight ASCEND partner cities. The project started in January 2023 and will run for 5 years, with an overall budget of around 25M€ for a consortium of 39 beneficiaries from 14 different countries.
AdEPorto is a partner in the project and will create a PCED in the municipality of Porto and will contribute to local project management, testing and validation of ideas, demonstration and prototyping. Find out more about this project.
