The Award Ceremony for the Winners of the Freguesias+Eficientes and PIEE-IPSS competitions was held under the scope of the National Meeting of Energy and Environmental Agencies, on 4 December, measures financed by the Plan for the Promotion of Efficiency in Electrical Energy Consumption (PPEC 2017-2018), approved by the Energy Services Regulatory Body (ERSE).
The Freguesias+Eficientes Competition and the Integrated Energy Efficiency Programme for IPSS (PIEE-IPSS) launched in 2018, had as main objective to train Civil Parish Councils, Unions of Civil Parishes and IPSS to be more energy efficient.
As a result of this programme, and as previously reported by AdEPorto, three Civil Parish Councils and Unions of Civil Parishes in the area covered by AdEPorto and an IPSS were awarded, namely the Union of Civil Parishes of Fânzeres and São Pedro da Cova with a prestigious second place, the Civil Parish Council of Vila de Moreira, and the Union of Civil Parishes of Aldoar, Foz do Douro and Nevogilde with two honourable mentions. The winning IPSS was the Social and Parish Centre of Imaculado Coração de Maria de Irivo. The prizes will translate into funding for the implementation of additional measures and/or equipment with greater energy efficiency.
