To build an urban ecosystem based on energy and environmental sustainability, by demonstrating the combination of innovative solutions with decarbonisation measures, contributing to carbon neutrality in the city of Porto, is the mission of “Asprela + Sustentável” project. This project, in the context of “Ambiente, Alterações Climáticas e Economia de Baixo Carbono“ programme and funded by the EEA Grants, came recently to an end. In this sense, we present some of the outcomes of this living laboratory, in a space where innovative services and technologies were tested in order to mitigate climate change and achieve carbon neutrality.

“Asprela + Sustentável” combined sustainable mobility actions, energy efficiency, renewable energy solutions, circular economy and citizens engagement, established in innovation and business models, in order to build a scalable and replicable urban ecosystem, of decarbonisation.

Porto Energy Agency – AdEPorto, was involved in the initial conception of the project and responsible for the technical coordination, which also counted with Coopérnico company, and collaboration from Porto Municipality and other partners: Porto Digital Association, municipal companies as, Porto Ambiente (Porto Environment) and Águas e Energia do Porto (Water and Energy Utilities of Porto), INEGI, EFACEC Electric Mobility, EFACEC Energia, INESC-TEC, VPS, EVIO, Porto Academic Federation (FAP) and International Development Norway.
